Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who funds you?
We rely on the generous donations from every-day kiwis to help support our campaign and keep it running. We're lucky to have an amazing team of lawyers who work pro-bono for the campaign. We also receive donations from The Body Shop, who have been running a global "Be Heard. Be Seen" campaign.
  • Do you support a political party?
We are a non-partisan group, which means we do not affiliate with any particular political party. Our members have a wide range of political views, including those both from the left and right of the political spectrum.
  • Do you think 16 and 17 year olds should go to adult courts and prisons
16 and 17 year olds already get tried and sentenced as adults for serious crimes. We also know that the reason for the youth justice system existing has nothing to do with the voting age, it was established to prioritise rehabilitation. We also know that voting is a "cold" decision making process, wheres offending is usually a "hot" one.
  • Won't they just vote the same as their parents?
    No.
